I'm using wifi ok, it connect ok no problem but there's no wifi icon on status bar, it was there yesterday but now it's gone

Ya this happens to me too. Your not the only one. Just wait for iOS 6.1 or 6.0.1 to fix the bugs.
Ugh, I just experienced this for the first time today. Not as bad as it showing full bars without being connected to Wi-Fi.
