"Screw me Photoshop CC 2024?!"

No, screw YOU Photoshop CC 2024! AND the horse you rode in on. Photoshop CC 2023 will actually do it's job, unlike you 24, you…

need help?

im supposed to create and improve old graphics with
CS4 PS this afternoon, but am totally exhausted from slaving in the hot sun this morning.

seems like i need an old project back in my life, perhaps i can create silly images in a daily Photoshop contest
we did in the early 2000's, they were fun!

I think now after eight months and this morning's little rebellion I can honestly say that for my own personal use I will never be purchasing a Mac from the years 2013 or newer.
I wish more  users had the moxie to pronounce this instead of being fork feed all this "greatness mularky"

LOL, no my 'help' yesterday was Adobe Creative Cloud doing my bidding and removing Photoshop CC 2024 entirely. I still have 2023 installed and have gone back to that - again. :)

Ouch, totally understand that. 15 minutes in PS is an eternity so I can just imagine how much work you lost.

So on Friday, Augut 15, 2025 I emailed the boss about the provenance of the 2015 MBP that work issued to me in 2019. This Mac, the subject of this thread, was 'retired' in mid-2023 in favor of our current M2s.

I'm glad I asked. I was told not to update this Mac by the guy who was essentially the company's IT department (he died during COVID), so it's been sitting on High Sierra since I got it. And it turns out that they DO expect it back. So, not mine to keep.

Which is fine. I'd much rather have it this way then to THINK it was mine when it's not. I've removed all the stuff I installed, plus my data and disconnected it from iCloud (which is actually a work Apple ID I created, not my real Apple ID). Of course, pulling it out from the rat's warren that are all the cables behind my desk ended up removing power from one of the adapters for the Cinema Displays. Had to trace that down, but the Mac is out (as is the power adapter) and sitting on my desk. Got to figure out now when I will next be down around Mesa, AZ (where the office is) so I can take it back.

Not mine, not using it, I don't want it here. That sounds snarky, petty and hostile, but it's not. It's just that it's sitting there ON all day everyday sucking up juice and taking a precious power slot I could use for something that IS mine. ;) It's doing nothing and since it isn't mine I can't use it for what I want, so I want it out.

That's the way it goes. G'bye Miss Independence, when you worked right you gave good service!

PS. The MBA on the top right is mine.

I understand your position here. It's perplexing that they'd even want it back given the machine's age, its designation as retired and the organisation's transition to Silicon models.
Yeah, it was a bit of a letdown. OTOH, I am no longer in a gray area of using a Mac that I assume to be mine. I would be angry and frustrated (but without cause) to find that I had to return it at some future date after having made it my own. It also occurs to me that I would not want to deal with the headache of it's getting lost ("You LOST our Mac?!") or pointlessly putting out some coin for repairs or upgrades.

In the longrun, since it isn't mine, it's just good to get it out of here. What happens to it after that isn't on me.
