No zoom in Camera app?

So does anyone know why in the Camera app on the iPhone4 and iOS5 that they removed completely the zoom function for both still pictures and video?

Just tested to be sure, but all you have to do now is pinch the screen like when zooming in on a picture or web page.

they didn't. i zoomed in by pinching, then the bar showed up on the bottom

Same here. I pinch and it shows up.
