Ha ha ha. Well, if a bomb exploded behind me, I'd probably want to hear it, so I'd know to run. I'd also like to hear car horns, sirens, boarding announcements, etc.

Again, this is why I want noise _canceling_, not isolating.

I didn't want to read the whole thread, but seriously the best headphones for the best price are the v-moda freq - Do it....Do it. Ebay is the best place to get them. $25 shipped

Umm...you can go to your local Radio Shack and pick up their iems for $30. Not bad for the price...But bang for buck is all kinda relative...

^^the Vmoda freqs suffer from serious build quality issues, can be uncomfortable and are kind of muddy sounding.

But if you get them for $25 I guess that is a good price. Beware of fakes on ebay.

I don't know of any quality noise cancelling phones OP, sorry. I just know good isolators, which are nice to use on airplane rides. The etymotics are great, as well as westones (particularly um1s for comfort and your price range). Sorry I couldn't really help.

but anyway, looks like you answered your own question with those sonys. Okay price, and probably do a the job.

I'll give you that, they do tend to break, however I just returned a pair that I bought from ebay new that ended up coming apart and v-moda sent me a new pair within a few days. I honestly think they are worth it, and they are the best in-ear headphones with the best overall quality for the price.
