Wish car manufacturers would put a Magsafe (even magnets-only + 7.5W Qi) zone on car dashboards.
I heard there’s a Lexus car where the whole Qi coil under the charging pad is literally moved by motors to achieve better alignment with the smartphone above.
They're pretty, but expensive and often lacking in performance. If they have to make them even more expensive to work as expected, then so be it. But don't charge an arm and a leg just for aesthetics.

Well, in this specific case we have very expensive charger made with nice materials and finish, which boasts a magnetic coupling (to ride on the popularity of MagSafe) while delivering the charging speed of the cheapest chargers available. This is like making a car that looks and costs as much as a Porsche while equipping it with the engine of a Nissan Sentra. Do you see the disconnect?
And yes, there are cases where Apple has done similar. But, for example, Apple could make a rational argument for why the first MacBook Airs were so expensive yet also underpowered. It was a necessary design tradeoff to deliver on their vision for making the world's thinnest and lightest laptop, which clearly wasn't intended power users.
In the case of this charger, however, I don't see why the low speed charging was a necessary tradeoff, other than to allow a specific price point. But since this is already a premium product intended for people who are ok with paying more, why not actually deliver something that works as well as it looks?
