Nomad today launched a new case for the iPhone 12, called the "Rugged Case for Moment" and priced at $59.95. This accessory is compatible with Moment's M-Series lenses, like the Wide 18mm lens or Tele 58mm lens.

The new Nomad case is compatible with Apple MagSafe and is made of Horween leather, available in Rustic Brown and Black. A Moment M-Series Lens is not included, but the case does come with the Moment drop-in lens mount, standard camera ring, and Moment lens interface.

The full list of Moment lenses that are compatible with the new case are the Wide 18mm lens, Tele 58mm lens, Anamorphic lens, 14mm Fisheye lens, and Macro lens. There are also two lanyard attachment points on the case, but it does not come with a lanyard.

I was wishing for a lanyard case to record video on my 11 while I was riding my bike down on the boardwalk. Didn’t feel steady enough to ride with one hand and hold a $1000 iPhone in the other.

Nomad are top drawer. Stunning quality products from a very cool company. Everything about the experience oozes class. From the buying to the unboxing to the living. That’s not to say everything they make will suit everyone, but if a particular item suits your use case then you can be sure the company and their gear won’t let you down.

Love these Moment lenses and cases. For my real estate site visits, I used to carry a DSLR and a lot of equipment. Now I switch from GPS to the Camera app and slap on the telephoto ? and it's all uploaded before I make it back to my office.

[edit] and the best part is, when the phone gets replaced, the lenses will still work with the next phone ?

For a moment I was slightly mad that I got the previous case for my mini. Then took a look and realized they’re just for normal sized 12’s and up.

Came across Nomad couple years ago and have been pleased with every product. The leather is better than the overpriced Hermès trash that Apple sells.

Ironic: They import German leather for their active leather straps, which I purchased and got delivered to Germany ?

I thought the iPhone generally used information from all three cameras regardless of "which camera I'm using"? If so, wouldn't it be a problem when the external lens covers the other integrated lenses?

Yes, as I discovered when my equipment arrived Wednesday.

The tele lens over the telephoto lens on iPhone 12 Pro Max keeps switching cameras. What I found is if the light is not bright enough using the default iPhone camera app, it will switch to another camera.

I was researching this problem on the web and YouTube.

Finally got an answer, you need to buy their iOS app for $6.99.
The app allows you to pick the camera, and is suppose to stay locked in on you selection.

I tested this using a different free app from FilmicPro called Double Take. That app allows you to choose a camera and stay locked in.

I haven't brought the app yet, will do so later.

Here are two links I found from Moment that go into further detail.
