Same form factor, wireless charging, same battery life, waterproof and works with the find my network.
The charging light, pairing button, and charging alignment are identical on this one and the Nomad. Sure looks to me that Nomad is rebranding this one, or they both are rebranding from another third party Chinese manufacture. Either way, this one is $12 cheaper, so you know exactly how much you are willing to pay for the Nomad name if you buy it over this one!

Same here. My wallet stays in my car 95% of the time just to ensure I have my license with me. I do have an AirTag affixed to it though...since I'm not really used to carrying it, it's good in the event that I do take it with me somewhere and accidentally leave it behind. Plus I can use it to find my car! 🚗

No way I’d leave my wallet in my car all the time.

Plus, your phone will mark where you parked without an AirTag being involved at all.

No UWB precision tracking makes this a hard pass from me.

Apple doesn’t license that function so the only way to get it is with an AirTag. But precise location isn’t necessarily mission critical for a device like this. It’s nice to have but the standard FindMy network gets you close enough in most cases.

However, the case keeps on cracking in my wallet. Don't know if a thinner card is better or not but rechargeable is a definite plus.

The only thing I think it would be cool to add besides the precise find would be a Smart NFC Networking Card. All in one card. Oh well, probably not happening. lol
I think the absolute best improvement we will see is second generation ultra wide band. Don’t think we can hope for much beyond that lol

The Rolling Square Card has NFC... I believe UWB is an Apple Exclusive for now?

I’d like to see an actual review, with a follow up 6 months or a year later. I have one of the Chipolo cards, and it has been super flaky. I feel like products that are hypermobile, and are carried with you all the time, need long-term reviews to test not just their initial functionality, but how well they hold up over time.

Right. And how they perform in a variety of locations too. Even an AirTag isn’t going to work the same out in a field in Iowa compared to one in downtown Seattle.

Until these can do precision finding - I‘ll stick with my modified (flattened) Airtag

I never lost my wallet outside in the last 2 years I’ve had an AirTag in it. But I did lose it many times in my place where precision finding was key to finding it. Without that feature it’s almost useless.

To accommodate the AirTag, I had a custom full grain leather wallet made that has a specific area for the Airtag.

Ive had no issue with my Chipolo Card Spot. 18 months going strong and still reports full battery in Find My.

How do you launch a product and then a few hours later back-order it a few months? This just made me purchase this one instead. $15 cheaper, free shipping and seems to be the exact same card.. No brainer..

I've had a few different ones and the thickness is annoying. So if this one is rechargeable and thinner, I may be grabbing one once my current one dies.

What´s the problem? Perhaps it is different here in Germany, but there is not much risk associated with keeping the license in the car.
I don't think storing one's drivers license inside the vehicle registered to the name on said license is generally considered a great practice, at least here in the United States.

From my experience with Nomad's Qi charging products (two of their pads, including the AirPower-like put-it-anywhere model) this thing will fail in under a year and the company will be of no help whatsoever. I'd pass.

Precisely why I only buy things like this from Costco, so when it does fail I can get my money back. If Costco doesn't sell it, I don't consider it.

I am grateful it’s not yet another rechargeable product that’ll die when the battery dies. Consider how cheap AirTags are, it’d be an environmental nightmare if people have to throw away AirTags with dead batteries and buy new ones. AirPods come to mind as an example of wasteful consumer products with rechargeable batteries that users cannot replace easily.
But aren’t disposable batteries also an environmental nightmare? I’m sure they add up to quite more waste than the AirTag itself over its lifetime.
