Nomad today announced the launch of its latest Apple Watch accessory, the Stratos Band. Priced at $179, the Stratos Band is a titanium and FKM hybrid band that combines the benefits of titanium with the comfort of fluoroelastomer.

The band has outer links made from metal injection molded Grade 4 titanium, with compression molded FKM on the interior. The FKM is used to link the titanium pieces together, providing flexibility that's not available with traditional metal bands. The FKM material peeks through the rounded titanium links, adding visual interest, plus it offers space for ventilation to help with moisture evaporation and breathability.

Nomad's Stratos Band is available in silver or carbide (black) titanium options, with black, volt, or ultra orange FKM inside. A custom magnetic clasp keeps the band secure on the wrist, and there is an included tool and two half-sized links to adjust the length for a custom fit.

While the band is designed for the Apple Watch Ultra models, it is also compatible with all other Apple Watch models, including those dating back to the original Apple Watch.

The Stratos Band can be ordered from the Nomad website for $179 starting today.

I love the idea of it, and it looks nice. But it also looks like it might wreak havoc on my arm hair, and how difficult is it going to be to clean? All metal straps are relatively easy to clean, but it seems like yuck might start to build up on all of those FKM plates and be difficult to clean.

That is actually a very attractive band style. Love the orange peaking through which matches the Ultra so well. And it’s also functional since it helps with comfort. I think I’m going to pick one of these up eventually, perhaps if they run a sale next month.

It's way too high on price, $179!!
The Apple Milanese band is $199 (a robbery too) but looks better than this... and has Apple warranty...
I just exchange a $100 loop band (for free) that it had a loose titanium piece in the apple store

The finish only matches the Ultra, why doesn’t Nomad make the end links match the size of the Ultra instead of making it compatible with 46mm/44mm/42mm Apple Watches? Anyway, it looks like this was leaked out before Nomad was ready to sell it. This has been available on Facebook for months at around €60 odd and the last month or so on AliExpress for around €30. That’s where I got mine.

How is it possible this band works for the big Apple Watch Ultra 49mm and the small Apple Watch 10 42mm? Does each band have all the different sized watch connectors on the box? This is new.

Nice to have choices, but its not one I would go with.
I like their fluoroelastomer bands, but not when combined into a metal band. If I am getting sweaty enough to need a band with ventalation, I would wear a fluoroelastomer band or some other breathable strap as they are way easier to keep clean.

I definitely wouldn't have got this in place of my Sandmarc grade 5 titanium band.

My first Apple Watch was 42mm and the bands for it as well as all of the others I've had along the way (not really that many) fit my Ultra 2. I'm not seeing anything about compatibility with the smaller watches on their website. I know the smaller watches have grown from 38 to 42 over the years but to keep bands compatible I thought they had a different (narrower) design.

Maybe TMI, but I keep an old toothbrush under the bathroom sink specifically for cleaning my Omega AquaTerra and its stainless steel band. Just wet the brush and use a little bit of bar soap to easily clean the entire watch quickly, then rinse under faucet and towel dry. The entire process is quick and is a must periodically or before any special occasion.

Wait, is Nomad just a drop-shipper with better branding and marketing than most? 🤯 I ask because I've been seeing these exact bands on AliExpress (for a fraction of the cost, of course) for a while now. They stood out to me immediately, because they specifically said "flouroelastomer," which I've always greatly preferred to silicone.
