Wait, is Nomad just a drop-shipper with better branding and marketing than most? 🤯 I ask because I've been seeing these exact bands on AliExpress (for a fraction of the cost, of course) for a while now. They stood out to me immediately, because they specifically said "flouroelastomer," which I've always greatly preferred to silicone.

...would you happen to have a link to one of these AliExpress listings? For research, obviously!

I like the looks, bit don't like the mixed material choice, there are pros and cons about it. Usually you go for full titanium band for looks, durability, cooler feel on skin, less sweaty and sticky.

This you will still get sweaty and sticky, durabiluty would be less than full titanium band. But looks cool.

Sure. There are a ton of them for about $30 or less (they say $60 but they're all 'on sale' for half that). Most have lots of positive reviews, and many have pictures (which I tend to think makes them more likely to be legit).

Won’t be surprised if they’re from the same factory in china and Nomad slaps their logo on it and charge a 100% premium…

Yeah, that's kind of what I'm thinking. I mean, if it's a good product then more power to them! I was just a little surprised to see the exact same thing on AliExpress before Nomad started selling it. Always figured it worked the other way around.

Same thing with the Bullstrap leather cases, which are identical to Luckycoin and Wiiuka brands on Amazon and most definitely from the same factory. BS slaps a logo on it and charges 2-3 times the premium.

Coming from the same factory doesn’t necessarily mean the same quality or QC. I’ve personally bought some of the AliExpress bands and while silicone and woven bands are decent, metal ones are almost always subpar. With link type bands there is always an annoying rattling issue where the watch vibrates because the links are loose and the connectors to the watch aren’t snug.

It's probably a great way for these brands to unload what's otherwise B- or C- stock. Nomad doesn't cheapen their brand image and the factory can move otherwise unproductive inventory

I’ve been thinking about this band more today and yeah, it’s definitely going to be my Christmas present to myself. I’ve never purchased a nice band for my Ultra 2 because Apple doesn’t make one (I mean, I have those but I wouldn’t say they’re nice like the link bracelet) and I didn’t like the third party options. I think what I like about this the most is how it seamlessly blends a more formal and quality band design with sporty undertones and flexibility to create the perfect blend for everyday use and comfort. It also looks like something Apple would design. They friggin nailed it. I just hope they run a sale before the holidays because the only downside is it’s a little pricey for something that is half rubber.

Rubber watch bands always make my wrist feel sweaty because they don't breathe well. So not sure why I would want to combine that with metal.

Thats why i like the apple cloth bands and Milanese titanium band. The Milanese is the ultimate in comfort snd durability imo.

Agreed. I actually got the OG Milanese Loop with my launch day Series 0 but didn't like it and basically never wore it (got a stainless steel link instead, which I still use all the time, ten years later!) but I got the titanium Milanese Loop with my Ultra 3 and really like it. It's comfortable and really versatile! I've worn it to formal events, and I use it at night for sleep tracking as well as workouts (cycling, lifting, etc) if I don't feel like switching bands. Very cool band.

Yeah agreed! I've stuck with that one for most activities. I have an alpine band I thought I'd wear for activity but usually I can't bother to change bands because the titanium mesh is so good. My only gripe with the titanium is it sometimes feels a bit loose when I start a run with it because of how I wear it during the day, but it's adjustable.

Agreed about the OG Milanese band - also the magnet wasn't strong enough so it'd get loose and heart rate data would be less reliable.
