my iPhone 6 cable keep turtle necking and cramping out.

Found a non Apple cable that looks more heavy duty. Any fear of messing up the iPhone. It's at a kiosk in the mall. Looks like they sell a top.

Just don't want to mess up the phone or battery.

Thanks

Generally when looking at non-Apple cables, I stick with cables that are Apple MFi certified (Made For logo).

I usually get a good MFi braided lightning cable for durability. Anker mentioned above are great cables.

For my car I've been using this cable that has an LED on the end. When in the dark car it makes plugging it in easier:

Someone else would have to answer. Unfortunately (just for this question), all my lightning cables are Apple or MFi certified. I don't have any non-MFi cable usage to tell.

Due non MFI cables give the nagging message or can u use a lightning cable of any kind?

You take the chance of that. Happened on my iPhone 6. I had a non-MFI cable, gave me errors when plugged into anything except the wall charger. Got this and it's been great everywhere. The few $ you save on non-MFI cables won't be worth it.

I owned one non Apple cable, wish I could remember what specific one it was, but can't. Anyway, it was a very heavy duty looking cable and worked fine initially, and all of a sudden after about 4 months it just quit working. Really surprised me because I'm really careful with my stuff and never pull the cable out by just gripping the wire. Didn't show any sign of damage, just quit. From now on it's just Apple for me.

This is what I'm using and I can't recommend it enough.

I buy only MFi cables, but every once in a while they go bad, too. I have one right now that will charge my iPhone just fine, but if I plug in my iPad I get a message "not charging." YMMV
