Non-ironically: iOS 27 is noticeably smoother and more performant

I could tell even during the first few hours when the phone was re-indexing and warm: this thing is pretty slick.

Since then, absolutely. Everything feels (dare I say it?) snappier. Slick, smooth, whatever other adjective you want to place on it. I know a Snow Leopard style release isn't super exciting to everyone, but to me the work they've put in on the performance improvements have really paid off.

I'm still waitlisted for the new Siri, but just the performance bump alone has me quite happy with 27. The various other tweaks and functional additions are just icing on the cake.

It has some issues here and there, but for a beta 1 it's solid. I may skip beta 2 as they tend to be the buggy ones.

I’d say the same about iPadOS 27 beta 1, it is snappier and smoother than 26.5. There was always a lag when swiping between apps and that lag is gone now.

Yeah. I've had a few apps crash on me (Photos crashed on me a couple of times when doing some 'cleanup') and noticed some other bugs ... which is 100% to be expected with a beta, especially an early dev beta.

That said, it's a pretty clean dev beta 1, to be sure.

I'd agree using an AIR here and is noticeably quicker.... not glitch free by any means by lightning fast

It is quick in most functions but quite rough in others. Safari is still a mess, various web sites crash, can’t be logged into, or just freeze. Fortunately I don’t put betas on my phones so I’ve been able to access important sites on it. I have it on my iPad Pro. The very nice aspect is that the Home Screen and folder icon redrawing appears to be fixed, finally. The worst bug of 26 for me. Disappointingly, tapping on a bookmarks folder to open it still frequently launches all the web sites contained within it. I have to close all the erroneously launched tabs and then go back and try again. Usually the second attempt just opens the folder as it’s supposed to.
