Frank

I use audible books on my iPod and in iTunes.
They just need to be .aa format.

What's ".aa format" mean. Is there something I would have to do or is that the way I would download it from audible.

How about books on cd from Barnes & Nobles. Will those work too??

Thanks.

.aa is the format that Audible use, so it downloads in that format.

If you're using CD you can just rip them in iTunes.
I've just found this too.

Does "rip" = copy them over??? Or is there special software I would need to "rip" them??

There's a guide for putting audiobooks onto your iPod in the big yellow MacRumors Guides section right at the top of this forum. I recommend you start by reading that and then ask any clarifying questions. :) Quick answer: it's really easy to do, all you need is iTunes, maybe some free scripts, and an easy to follow guide (see above).
