I have a freind who is interested in purchasing one of those Sony ViAO desktop PC's. It is a pentium 4 2.66 GHZ, with 512 MB or RAM, and a 120 GB HD, it has a giga pocket for recording of your tv, and has Microsoft Office XP. Anyway what do some of you think about this computer. I personally haven't had much experience with the VIAO line. Any suggestions.

i would see if sony has any centrino laptops out, those are getting great reviews. talk about great battery life, if i was getting a pc laptop i would get the centrino.

edit: oh my bad, your looking at a desktop, sorry.

If it's not mac related it's in the wrong forum.

The Vaio minitowers are cute, but other posters have suggested that they are somewhat unreliable and very difficult to work on.

A friend of mine got a Viao about 3 months, he decided that it was far superior to an eMac.

Now he is trying to sell it to buy an eMac, but the resell value of a peecee is not so good. If he sells it, he is going to loose at least $500.00. If he had baught an eMac and decieded that he didnt like, he would have lost $100.00 tops.

We learn from our mistakes I guess.

Those VAIO's are nothing but pretty computers, my parents bought one awhile back and while it had good hardware specs, the software was horrible, especially the video editing/management software and the music software is nothing to scream about either, they may look pretty on the outside, but don't get it for the software bundle.
