I'd like to transfer the entire contents of my G4 iBook into a G5 iMac. The iMac will be running 10.4 (clean install); my iBook is currently running 10.4 as well. Is there a way to load everything, including all my preferences, Entourage history, settings, etc., essentially making the iMac a copy of the iBook? I suppose I could do the transfer piecemeal but it would be so much simpler if it could be done as a single operation. Thanks for the help. :)

the first time you turn on the iMac, it will ask you if you want to transfer the settings from another Mac. Say Yes, and it will load Migration Assistant, which will walk you through the steps. You need a Firewire cable, but Migration Assistant will make your iMac a perfect copy of your iBook.

If you skipped that step, you can access Migration Assistant in the Applications > Utilities folder

Thanks

"Migration Assistant". That's what I was looking for. Thanks!
