Noob question about desktop

    I know this is a total noob question and Im not even new to macs but...how come there is no shortcut to the hd on the desktop? Is this something new? Can I create one? Please help and be nice to me :eek: :p

    Finder->Preferences->Show these items on the desktop->Hard Disks

    Finder -> Preferences -> General -> "Show these items on the Desktop"

    Strange though, this question gets asked a lot, but if one takes into account the many Mac OS X users, that might be more than little.

    There should be one there. If not, i believe just open up finder and drag and drop macintosh hd to the desktop
