In front of my MacBook Pro
So here I am, I'm buying a MBP this summer and have noticed the 250 GB HDs. I was wondering if Apple would replace the stock one with one I bought or something like that, you know, at the store. If not, I'd void that warrenty pretty quickly. (I don't think they would, but a double check would be nice)

Apple will do an install for you for a fee. The 250GB drive is 12.5mm, though, I believe, which makes it too tall for the MBP.

The new Western Digital 250GB 5400rpm that was just announced is a 9.5mm, so it will work :D

Do you know what the fee is by any chance?

THEY WILL NOT REPLACE THE HDD UNLESS ITS DEFECTIVE OR YOU HAVE PURCHASED THE REPLACEMENT FROM APPLE.

They recommend you to go to somebody like compusa, etc who will do it for a fee. the fee includes something like 20$ fee + 100$ labor.

I instead bought a 15$ screw driver set from radioshack and replaced the HDD myself when i had to about 2 months back
