noob question- re: sleep mode

If i put my comp on sleep mode, could I put it in my backpack and move around?
OR is the harddrive still actively on and it may dmg my cpu/harddrive?

Yes, you can. Once the computer is asleep (so after about 20 seconds), the Hard Drive is not spinning. Essentially, the only component of the computer still receiving power is the RAM.

the white light on the front should start pulsing once it's totally asleep.
