Alright, I'm new at this so please forgive my ignorance. I'm looking to get a 24" iMac. Say I bump up the specs to 2.8, with 4GB of RAM, and a 1TB drive. In doing so am i risking any heat issues? I'm guessing not because I don't think apple would offer such a configuration if there were these issues. But I thought I would at least get your input. Does a larger hard dirve have heat issues? The last thing I want is an expensive fried iMac. Thanks in advance for your help!

A faster processor and a lot of RAM will make your computer hotter, for sure, but I don't think you'd have any problems with it as long as you kept it well ventilated and preferably in a cool spot, away from direct sunlight. But that's common sense.

Your hard drive, no matter how big, will get hottest when your accessing it the most, if it's idle a lot it should be quite cool.

Good luck in your purchase, sounds like an awesome machine.
