    Anybody not familiar with iPhone? I'm quite unfamiliar with mine since thisis my first. What the heck is the blue dot beside the carrier?

    That means you're on GPRS. Don't expect lightning fast Internet!

    2nd question. Are you being charged for location services? I don't have a data plan.

    3rd question. Wifi supersedes 3g then GPRS right?

    Location services work from satellite and wifi/cell tower triangulation. Don't think it relies on data.

    In a very simplistic way, yes.
