I updated to Monterey 12.6.1 last night, and this has stopped NordVPN from working, anyone else having any issues?

Huh. There is no Monterey 16.1. Do you mean iOS 16.1? Or Ventura 13.0?

I've updated to iOS 16.1 and Nord works fine. Haven't done Ventura yet.
My mistake, meant 12.6.1

The issue was that the Nord app available for d/l from their site has some issues, while the one in the app store, while having a slightly different feature set, works properly.

Recommendations for a VPN using the latest OS on a Mac mini M2 pro.

I have a NordVPN subscription which worked flawlessly on my old 2012 iMac. But it like “pulling teeth” keeping it up and running on the new Mac with the latest OS. Thinking of changing when my subscription comes up for renewal

I have also been experiencing issues with Nord across all my devices as follows:

MBP M1 16": At times, not every day but far too frequently, very slow to connect to a new server after one has become slow and/or unresponsive. Randomly found myself connected to Portugal the other day.

iPad Air M1: Same as the Mac but actually a bit better.

iPhone SE 2022: Worst of the bunch, randomly off even though I have auto-connect on, very slow to pick up new servers, hate when I am forced to log back in. Have resorted to "reset network settings" many times, probably once every 3 months.

My sub is just about to expire as well and I may shop for an alternative or setup my own.

What are the symptoms of the failure?

Have you contacted NordVPN help?

For me the VPN would only stay attached for a few seconds before dropping. I contacted NordVPN support and they pointed me to a special set of instructions for attaching to a Mac when using Ventura. That helps significantly but it still drops off occasional (1 or 2 times a week) by itself and need to restarted (the VPN Connection, not the Mac) manually. NordVPN didn’t (6 months ago) used to act this way-it use to me rock stable. Don’t know if it’s the OS or NordVPN.

Don’t know if it’s the OS or NordVPN.

Which is likely extremely difficult to isolate. Do you have, or can you get, access to another VPN - maybe through a free trial? If it doesn't happen there then that would somewhat point to be a NordVPN problem assuming the Apple VNP support framework which is used is the same.
