Normal? Wifi automatically detecting and appearing on screen?

its weird. It wasn't like that in the past. With latest updates on iPhone and iPad, the wifi connection option appears on screen. How do I stop that?

Then it wasn't working right. That feature has been around for a long time.

Yes...if it is "On". I turned that off back when I had a 3GS and I was getting the popup driving down the street.
