Not able to switch between HDMI Dirctv to Apple Tv

Between the outer bands of Irma, I am trying to flip between Directv and Apple TV. From the TV remote I am always able to use flashback to change between HDMI's. For some reason, today I can't. It starts to go to HDMI output for Apple TV but goes back to DTV. If I simply switch the HDMI outputs at the TV, Apple TV shows.

Anyone see this behavior or have a solution?

I have experienced this issue early on with ATV3. Unplug all HDMI and turn off and on TV without anything plugged in. Your ports "should" reset. In my case I could not switch from the ATV to the alternate source. Also there may be a firmware download for your TV.
