Is it OK, if I don't close the lid down while not using my mac? I mean, if I don't have to transport it. I would put it into sleep mode manually.

Thanks

Use your computer however you like. I use mine on my bed despite fact that it's obviously got good for air circulation.

My rMBP's lid stays open. I keep the laptop on a Rain Design Mstand so the lid is open pretty much all the time.

Yeah i can't see why it would be a problem

The only thing I think of is if you're concerned about dust accumulating on the keyboard. I have my rMBP hooked up onto an external display and I've gone through periods of using it in clamshell mode, but ultimately the laptop is mostly open all the time for some reason.

Thanks for your replies.

I blow away dust form screen and keyboard with one simple blower which is used also for blowing away dust on camera lens and sensor.
