I experienced booting failure after installing my new memory. (One Beep), so no detected memory. I have the 1,67 Powerbook g4 15" with two DDR2 SO-DIMM PC4200 512MB installed. It works fine. I tried to upgrade to two Crucial DDR2 SO-DIMM 4200 1gb PC4200 (same specifications), but it wont boot.

Does anyone know why my PB can't detect the Crucial ram?

I'm pretty sure Apple laptops are very picky about the brand of memory that it uses. I've used many different brands in my MBP and most of them don't work. I would say take it back and try to use it a different brand.

P.S. for the record, I'm currently using A-DATA RAM in my MBP.
