I set up a 17MBP and there's a problem with airport. I can't get my network as the preferred network so it joins that one every time on start up. Instead, it brings up a box asking which to join (there's a network at another house that's secured and my network). What can I do?

In system prefs>network>airport I can't add my network as the top as nothing is listed there...

    Thanks!

assuming you're using Leopard, click advanced on that same pane to see networks and drag accordingly.

I am, sorry should have mentioned that.

I tried, and there's *no* networks listed there.

click plus symbol to add network to see available options, otherwise if your modem is not broadcasting the ssid (i think it's called) enter name & p/w manually.
