I only hate your company because 611 customer service is a NIGHTMARE. Oh yeah, and my choices for text messaging on family plans are LAME :)

For the record-this is NOT directed at you :) Just wanted to blow off some AT&T steam...

huh?!?!? the family text is $30 for unlimited for up to 5 lines!!!! compare that to last years $20/person no matter how many lines!

611, eh, yea, i never have a need to call them, if i was a consumer i would deal with everything in the store (though as a salesman i hate customer service issues).

They aren't going to make any kind of concession for you. They have the iPhone upgrades on lockdown and are not making ANY exceptions. I have a line that is upgrade eligible on December 24th and they will not even let me upgrade that line to an iPhone early. If I wanted any other phone they would do it, but not the iPhone.

You can always try to get them to be easy on you, but so far in my experience, it ain't gonna happen...

WRONG, it could happen.

Anything is possible. This is AT&T Mobility we're talking about. Another faceless part of a huge faceless company with double-standards and juxtapositions galore.

Just because it didn't happen to you, doesn't mean it won't happen to anyone else.

I'd try multiple AT&T stores, O, and be as nice as possible. :)

OK I just checked with AT&T and I am uneligible, which means I'm gonna have to fork over $500 to get my phone.

Wasn't there some loophole that if you had a friend with an old iPhone you could activate it on your account and get the 3G subsidized?

Umm-yeah its that $30 thing that is the MOST LAME-

I need like 200-for ALL LINES-this is NOT A CHOICE for me-I can assign 200 PER LINE for another $15/month and I do not need this many...

No pooling plan except unlimited.

My current monthly is $60/700 minutes family + $10-3rd line + $30 3G data + $30 3G data = $130 plus taxes of about 30(!) % = $170.

For that much money I should get SOME text messaging-which costs the TELCO almost NOTHING-or at least give me the option of spending $5 a month and allocate 200 messages among all lines-sort of like T-Mobile does...

I understand that text messages are a rip-off industry wide, but they are particularly onerous at AT&T for those of us that don't need a whole lot of them.

Just sell the phone you had and use the rest for the new iPhone. If you need it now, it's worth it.

But, if you want to have the latest and greatest, just wait till next summer.

taxes shouldnt be more than about 22%, u should check to make sure there arent any other usage charges on there... but yea i understand u want less than unlimited for the family. guess they assume if people do it, they do it a lot?

no corporate discounts?? that usually saves people some $$$

Checked my recent bill-just got it 2 days ago-there are no usage charges. However, I live in Washington, the state that never met a tax it didn't like. Cell phone taxes are unbelievable here :(

I would totally buy TOMORROW a pooled messaging plan-but alas, I can't get one.
