this is my first mac programming post, yay!
I am very interested in learning about UNIX commands in the terminal to accomplish tasks, like learning how to turn the safari debug menu on, thanks to macosxhints.com. I have a book, which is misplaced, unix for mac os x from o'reily. so, I know basic stuff, but am looking for a little more out of my 'core' experience'. I am looking for good online resources that even beginners can understand, but will get into more difficult ideas then running through the file tree and copy/paste.

    Google is your friend :)

Doing a simple search for "advanced unix shell scripting" returns plethora of links, first one being this and based on a 2 min glance it looks as a pretty good resource.

Well, with regular expressions and grep you can do amazing things text wise. Also perhaps look into some basic scripting, perhaps maybe even some Perl?
