So I do not want to start a comparison thread but I'm coming from an S21 Ultra which I still have and when it comes to wifi and cellular data it is MUCH faster than my 13 pro max. I've done several tests and my S21 ultra can pull over 400 Mbps on wifi consistently whereas my 13 pro max goes up to 250. Don't they use the same Qualcomm wifi chip?

Maybe it’s your phone? Have you tried resetting it or your route/modem? Also do you have multiple networks, like a 2.5ghz and 5ghz network? Sure both phones are connected to the same network?

This is concerning. I upgraded partly hoping for better connectivity. So far I get better WiFi signal in my house than the 11 Pro I upgraded from, but not by much.
Upstairs - away from my router - iPad Pro and MacBook Pro get full WiFi signal, 11 Pro was practically unusable, and the 13 PM gets about 1/4 full speed.

Yes across the board, this is my home Wi-Fi. I downloaded a YouTube video it took 5 seconds with the 21 ultra if that, took about a min with the 13PM.

Strange. I’ve noticed my connection is a lot stronger with my 13 pro max than my 12 pro max. Speeds remain close to the same, but connection is stronger. I have both a 2.5ghz network and a 5ghz network, sometimes the phone connects to the 2.5 instead which is why I asked

I’ll reset the network settings and see how that goes, thanks for the suggestions though appreciate it!

I’ve seen as high as over 600+ sometimes. Just make sure to check your router to see if your device is on 5Ghz band. Also, Speedtest using the same server and not let it default to auto since you’re not making a right comparison. Choosing the right server does make a huge difference. I’ve tested many other servers and they gave results around 300+ so this might be your case. Change the scale to 1000 as well if it’s not set.

For context, I have an AX11000 router with same SSID on both bands so it can be combined and let the device roam depending on distant.

Good point about choosing the same server although I feel like it was the same one the last time I ran the test but I’ll do that

Wow!!!! This is what I got on my 13PM. My S21 is at home I just left the house but I’ll upload pics of it when I get back.

what service provider do you have?

are ya sure you were on 5G when that test was run? LTE is capable of those speeds in very ideal conditions. That test was 48 minutes before you took that screen shot. Go back to the list and it shows if it was 5G or LTE.

Reason I ask these questions is because I am having major speed issues on 5G with T-Mobile, but LTE speeds, and WiFi speeds all approximately match my Note 20 Ultra.

Yeah disregard the last pic of the iphone I forgot to turn on wifi lmao. It actually did better this time, 365 vs 323 in favor of the iphone

Ok I’m getting really good speeds now, it may have been the server

There you go! Some servers are faster than others but there can also be many factors affecting their speed depending on load. Find the best server for you and use the same server if you’re comparing. This makes it hard to find actual true WiFi speed

WiFi 6 Netwgear Router to WiFI 6 Note 20 Ultra and iPhone 13 ProMAX. Supper fast and smooth everything load instantly. I just wish iOS would display the WiFi6 logo properly like the Note 20 Ultra.

My 13Pro Max had no problem pulling 4-500+ mbps throughput on VHT80 channel width on my network relative to 866mbps theoretical for that channel width.

I imagine it could go a bit quicker if I went to 160Mhz channel width but that seems a bit silly other than for benchracing purposes.

Same network but my 12 has a physical card while my 13 has the esim. Att claims this shouldn’t be a factor in signal but I’m tempted to go in and get a physical card
I believe you. I tested eSIM when they were still testing it and it wasn’t that great in terms of signal, speed and unable to receive short code on iPhone 12 PM. I used eSIM again after getting iPhone 13 PM to visit my usual places and it’s still not that great as SIM. Today, I switched back to physical SIM. A lot of users think there is no difference but actually there is. I recommend using a SIM.
