Not liking what I'm hearing about the 460...Should I cancel my BTO?

It is a total fail.

Reports over on reddit and showing even a 2013 MBP gets the same performance if not slightly better scores as than new 2016.

Yes the GPU is faster, but overall no. Lame.

I could semi forgive them had they not decided to jack the PRICE way up.

I mean part of that is the way that Intel is going - things aren't about raw performance these days as much as they are about power optimization/savings. So this isn't entirely Apple's fault. The Ars Technica review has a good explainer on some of the reasons why Apple went with the internals for the 2016 MBP.

Yeah, the price sucks but this is also a first-year product of a next-gen MBP. Think about the R&D costs. Prices will go down next year.. if you look at previous first-year MBPs, the pricing history is similar.

I hear ya - but here is the thing. This is Apple. APPLE. Industry leaders. Future forward pioneers. Premium.

They had 4 years to come up with something mind blowing and all I am hearing is excuses at every turn. If they are going to charge me way more money, I want way more for my dollars. Not less, which is what it seems we are getting from any angle you look at it.

I think he expected Apple to develop an own x86-compatible CPU and a super-power-efficient GPU that is much faster than anything else on the market. Spoiled kids these days :rolleyes:
 
About your topic: Do you think 450 is a very bad graphic card?
I haven't money for take the 460 BTO and i bought baseline with 450.

I will make few videoediting and a lot of photoshop.
Gaming will be limited to blizzards games (Starcraft 2, diablo3, wow)

It's a good solid offering but nothing amazing. Compare it to a PC £4K laptop with 10xx and it's a lame duck. Though like we have a choice when the obsession and one trick pony is thinness....

965m performance with only 35W is quite amazing and that is what you are paying for. The MBP has always been a compromise between form factor and performance. It isn't for everyone but it is probably the best compromise on the market for most users.

You can even run those games on the MacBook 12"... they aren't even graphics intensive.
 
I would kiss the ground if Apple could offer those GPUs on the 13" models .... but I guess that's not happening. By the time that is possible I suppose iGPU would be powerful enough.

I'm not joking, Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3 could be run on the lowest settings for 30 fps.

The Radeon 450 is powerful enough to run high settings at 1920x1080 at 60 fps. Don't expect it to run the newest titles smoothly though, like Titan Fall 2.
