I bought my brand new iMac from my local Apple store 2 days ago, and it doesn't have Lion installed. When I click on "about this iMac" from the Apple drop down menu, it says I am running OSX version 10.6.8. I just assumed it would have Lion installed on it and nobody gave me anything for a free download. I assume they should have, correct?

Correct

Go to the mac app store ( phone AppleCare frost to confirm) and simply download and install Lion. You should not be charged.

My iMac (July) came with SL but I had a free upgrade to Lion, just downloaded it and that was it.
