Not receiving any updates

Im currently on 10.8 but never received an update for 10.8.1 nor 10.8.2. Nothing ever comes up within software update reference software updates. I manually downloaded the package from apple but when I try to install 10.8.1 it says OSX cannot be installed, this volume doesn't meet requirements. What are the requirements other than being on 10.8?

I received my mountain lion through appleseed but it looks like I cant go back there to ask any questions. Maybe someone here could help me out?
 
Checked in the app store and downloaded that version of 10.8 and when I try to install it goes into an error loop with constant panics before installation starts.
