Not receiving AppleID verification email

I have had the same AppleID and email combination for years! My AppleID is my primary gmail account; and when I try to set it up, it says 'verification email sent,' for iCloud and it's now Friday and I have not received anything.

I have checked my spam filters, etc. and I just flat out not receiving the email.

Any suggestions?
