Not receiving messages

Anybody know why I’m not getting messages on my phone anymore? A recent bug that just kicked in yesterday, and I don’t get alerts or even receive the messages. They’re still coming in on my iPad and the strange thing about on my phone, if I write to a chat first I will receive the reply but if somebody just makes a message out of the blue and sends it to me I will not receive it. Anybody know what could be going on?

Check to make sure your email address and phone numbers are selected in Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. Restart your device as well.
