Not "Sleeping"

So I have noticed recently that my macbook has decided to do nothing when I click on "sleep" after pushing the power button. I know I can put it to sleep by just closing the cover but its dis concerning to know that it isn't working correctly. Any idea why this would be happening

I believe that there is an option to change this behaviour in the Energy Saver preference pane.

well apparently it was only doing this last night cuz I didn't change anything and now it's working so yeah, ignore this topic lol
