I just got a 15.4'' MacBook Pro 2.2, 2GB RAM, 120GB HD + Applecare until 2011. All boxed as new for £850.

Not a bad deal? :apple:

I think I seen that model in MacMall for $1249 with free parallels and printer. No AppleCare though.

BTW, £850 = $1299.00US

added:
It was a 2.4 model for $1349. It's still a nice computer though, just need to watch out for the 9600 GPU video card though.

It sounds like a fine deal. A new baseline macbook is still 750p right? (ok I checked, 704p for a white one and 929p for an alu one)

I maintain its a fine deal. Matte screen models have the 8600gpu, but the same story. It craps out, you get a new one, no big deal. I've gotten three, lucky me. Tho I only needed one...

Thanks for the responses, I'm pretty happy with the deal. As you say, the lesser spec'd Macbook is still more expensive....and I get firewire :p

Gotta love the older design too..
