Not sure if it’s an iPhone issue or MacBook iMessages.

iMessages seem to sync correctly between my iPhone and MacBook. However a person sent me two iMessages today which are present on my MacBook but aren’t on my iPhone.
Could it be that the sender deleted the the iMessages perhaps ?

More detail would be helpful. What OS versions are running on your Mac and phone? Do you have Messages in iCloud enabled on your Mac? Does it include your phone number on your Mac? What are your phone's Messages settings for iCloud?

I’m running Monteray, iOS 16.1RC on iPhone , I have iMessages in iCloud enabled on the Mac. Phones messages setting are send and receive my cell number and forward messages to one device being the MacBook. Thanks.

Are you saying your phone settings do not include your Apple ID in Send & Receive and that it's only your phone number?

Under iMessages in settings my send and receive is just my cellphone number within my iPhone settings menu. The various other email addresses including my Apple ID are not checked. Within the same menu on the iPhone, I have “text message forwarding “ enabled indicating messages are forwarded to my MacBook.

I guess what confuses me, is that I would have been able to understand this issue if it were the other way around. Meaning the MacBook not receiving the iMessages.

Sounds to me like they were sent to your Apple ID email, not your phone number.

Sounds to me like they were sent to your Apple ID email, not your phone number.

That would be odd but understandable since the sender only knows me contact number and hotmail address which isn’t checked on either devices as a send or receive for iMessages.
