Note 4 vs 6 Plus

Trade in value must be at least $10 at carrier/retailer you trade in to. Samsung will then send you a check for the difference of $200.

I'll be trading in a Nokia to T-Mobile valued at $11 so Samsung will be cutting me a check for $189.

I'm not worried at all, yeah the octa core is appealing because well, 8 core awesomeness and 64bit capability... However the reality is the exynos is locked to 32bit and will probably remain so, and even if it wasn't the chances of seeing any performance differences would be minimal from 32bit/64bit. Also the snapdragon will probably be better supported by the guys at xda, but we will see... Either variant is going to be awesomeness. I think next year we will start to see the benefits of 64bit in android when we start getting 8GB RAM + 16core processors + quad quad HD screens 😎

What about the poor gpu performance when rendered at native resolution?

Poor gpu performance? Only thing I've heard about that is a video of gta being played and it being laggy... Gta is notorious for being laggy on Samsung devices from what I have read, and it's probably not optimised for Samsung devices either. Either way doesn't bother me too much as I won't be playing many if ANY games on my note 4. I'd much rather be able to download songs and videos/edit tags directly on my device and import them into my media player without having to mess about with iTunes on PC over being able to play GTA lol.

Not sure if it will speed up performance, but if you enter developer mode and Force 4x MSAA option to on, it will force the system to use 4x multisample anti-aliasing in OpenGL ES 2.0 games and other apps thus improving graphics and appearance in many cases.

define what you mean by stuck with TouchWiz. as noted earlier, you're not going to remove it as the framework but you can edit just about any and all aspects of the phone that TW impacts and create a better performing and more enjoyable experience all around.

The Xenos chipset will not be 64bit. Nor the Snapdragon. Their both older chipsets.

Haha...I am trying to be. Usually don't have time for anything more than a little clash of clans.

I have bioshock, xcom, on my six plus with full intentions of playing them....eventually.

Honestly, I want the phone to last two years easily. I don't want to feel like I am compromising are having a less than ideal experience come a year from now.

I really wanted to switch back to iOS after a couple of years with a Note 2. BUT, I do love a large screen and I'm not too impressed with the lag I experienced on the 6 +. I have read the benchmarks and I am not sure that just a software update can fix the on screen rendering on the +

Why didn't Apple just make a native resolution screen????

I am a little torn. I want the stability and beauty of iOS, but I do love the flexibility in Android.

If Apple nailed the + I would have bought as soon as possible.

I'm thinking now to just get the Note 4 on a 1 year contract and seeing what the 6S+ will bring.

Yeah, that is what I am going to do.

So basically, this entire post was just me working out that I should just shut up.

All lag on the iPhone 6+ (which was minor to begin with) is fixed on iOS 8.1 beta. They are software related
 
Passing on the Plus, just not for me personally after trying it for about 10 days.

Real excited about the Note 4, BB will not let me stay overnight though or let me take it home now. Damn, you think by now they would want to instead of seeing me each day. Halloween is coming up, maybe I should disguise myself. 🙂

Order one of those blue shirts with Samsung on it....go to BB and tell them you need to do more testing on one of them....

I'm right there with you....I bought the 128 GB so I could throw a bunch of movies on there and still keep my games (even though I barely play them). It sounds so enticing lol....

Minor is subjective, for me I don't expect it on what is supposed to be a top of the line device. I see the dual rendering and scaling to be an issue in the future. 8.1 may fix it but I am still going to wait for the 6+S (geeze some Android fans will have field day with that name)
 
I would have been on the 6+ too. But i'm tired of Apple purposefully gimping products and charging a premium on it. I bet all the kinks will me miraculously cured with the "latest" and "greatest" technologies that they have been working on for "years".
