Hi,

I'm looking for a note taking program. Currently, I use Evernote, which is fine, but I store some personal information that I need to keep local. Even though I encrypt it, with very hard-core passwords, the requirement I face is to keep it off the Cloud. My specs aren't that complex, but, I haven't been able to find something that,

1. Stores files locally. Evernote and OneNote fail in that regard, at least on Macs.
2. More functionality than the Apple Notes program.
3. Works decently on IOS and OS X.

OneNote for PC would be perfect because you can store information locally, my device is encrypted, and it has pretty robust functionality (nests notes, something the Mac version doesn't), but, on a Mac you can't go local and it has less functionality than on a PC.

Any suggestions that maybe I've missed?

Thanks for any help.

I made Outlinely, an outliner and note-taking app that is available on both Mac and iOS. It has many features, including nested notes and local storage if you do not want to store your notes in the cloud.

Cheers!

You can create a Local Notebook in Evernote on the Mac using the File Menu. This is not synced to the Cloud and is only viewable on the Mac where it is created.
