I'm curious about battery life. These new 1080p phones are great but the Note 2's 720p screen givs it far superior battery life than any 1080p device. I would expect by the time the Note 3 comes around that batteries will be at the level that can give the same on screen time as the Note 2 currently gets with faster processor, 1080p screen added on. Today, they get noticeably worse battery life with these better specs which are a little ahead of the battery technology sadly.

that would be my major concern...battery life. If they were able to match the battery life of the note 2 then it would be better than the note assuming that LG's added features are similar.

I can only speak for myself, but at the moment, a large phone for the sake of having a large screen, with no other advantage or reason for being so large, seems to me, overkill.

Its odd that with a 5.5 inch screen phone, that the sPen and the pressure sensitive screen somehow in my mind make the size of the Note 2 acceptable and justifiable even though I know its a huge phone and the LG is practically the same size:p

The battery life on both phones is also comparable.

You may also take into consideration the software update timeliness with LG if that will be an issue for you perhaps not always getting the latest Android updates until some time after they are released, if at all. (not claiming a winner between them)

Important to me would be whether there was a community I can access to try roms, tweaks to change things up when I get bored of the same thing over the period of a contract.

Also you have to decide whether its important to have a larger memory than 32gb and an SD card slot.

The camera seems to be better than the Note 2 and obviously the screen. Having not seen the screen and handled the phone in person, I can't comment whether that would be an important enough feature to lose the ability to store a library on an SD card and access and enjoy when and where I want.

At the end of the day you can't go wrong with either phone. Either phone is a winner.

I currently use a Note 2 and love nearly everything about it, including the size. That being said, I don't use the S Pen at all and some of my favorite custom ROMs take no advantage of the S Pen so omission of a stylus is a non factor. I find the LG design attractive and having a higher res screen, increased on board memory and a potentially better camera all intriguing--just not sure if it would be enough to consider upgrading.

Also, as I also like to experiment with custom ROMs, Donvald's concern over the presence of a robust community supporting the device would be important to me as well.

Regardless, I'm definitely excited about lots of great new flagship level phones in the pipeline.

Note2 solely for the S Pen....I've never had an LG Android so I cannot comment on their system. But I love Samsung's neat little features. Like for example the vibrate it does when you pick your phone up from a flat surface and you have a message.
