I was hoping that it would now be possible, in Monterey, to add code blocks with syntax highlighting to Notes, but it looks like it's not possible yet?

I'm currently using Typora for notes, but I would like to use Apple Notes.

What are your favorite features in the current version of Notes? Or do you use something else?

I'm using Notes at the level of High Sierra I think. I didn't want to move up because I still have a system running High Sierra. I actually don't know what the features are in the current version. I'd have to create another iCloud account to play with it.

Alas it's still only setting the font to monospaced and applying a grey background in Notes for code blocks. I'd love this, but I guess the rationale will be it's not precisely a mainstream everyday-user feature.

I also use Typora for code snippets, which is great, but I prefer Notes for syncing and organising everything. Would if I could.

I’m hoping that Notes will one day support Markdown. Until then, I‘m using Bear.

Imagine running a code in a Note and it turns out to be a virus 😂

Notes in Sonoma seemingly supports code blocks!
However can't figure out how to make one,
it made one from an existing note.

Oh! I figured it out!

Actually super obvious, happens automatically now whenever you format it with Monostyled font!!
