Hello,

I'm looking for some help with the yellow Notes app, primarily the desktop version on my MacBook Pro.

Due to some connection issues I know that my Notes app doesn't sync perfectly over all my devices due to internet connection problems months ago. For the most part the app syncs very well for the most part.

I am about to sell one of my Macs and I would like to be able to export or email all the notes from this Mac so that I make sure no vital notes I have will be gone forever once I restore the Mac and wipe the data.

Does Notes offer this feature being able to email all the notes or somehow make a copy of them for elsewhere?

Many thanks.

Notes is intended to be cloud-centric, so there's no easy way to make an archive of the entire Notes library. It's probably better to spend some time fixing the iCloud issue.

First, make sure all the documents are actually in iCloud, rather than On My Mac (make sure you have the three-column view that includes the folder list). Drag documents from On My Mac into iCloud, the same way you'd do it with Mail messages, adding contacts to Groups in Contacts, etc.

If that doesn't help, go into System Preferences > iCloud and un-check Notes. Wait a while, then re-check Notes. Log into iCloud.com to view the notes in the cloud and see if the iCloud.com notes match those on the Mac.

There's more iCloud-related troubleshooting you can do, and I'd consider getting iCloud to work the way it should to be the most fruitful approach to the problem. If you can't resolve it on your own, call AppleCare - since it's related to your iCloud account, they should help you regardless of warranty status.

Very helpful reply, thank you so much. Good community spirit. Cheers.
