Hello,

Does anyone know of a 3rd party application on the App Store that allows notes (text) to be saved directly to the Watch's internal memory? I have only tried Evernote but that receives its information from the iPhone.

I would appreciate anyone's help.

I know Day One Journal is now native but I haven't tried to install on the phone.

There is an idea that might work if you can't find
i think he was attempting humor. :)

Day one journal went native so it might save in the watch. Might be free? Was waiting for Microsoft one note as well.

I do take notes in the iPhone reminders add along with all my reminders and lists and I use fantastical 2. Can't vouch for certain but I think they are available on the watch when I was testing and shut my phone off.

Drafts 4 is expensive but good and I thought a review said it was stored on the watch.

At least a few to try that are note apps.

Thanks for the response. Have you heard anything confirming the above lately? I would really like to use OneNote but currently I do not have an Apple watch to test.

Does anyone know if OneNote has updated so notes can be saved to the watch directly?

Have you looked at Drafts?

I'm not sure if the notes are stored on the watch, but it sure is useful for catching voice notes that are converted to text on the watch. The newest version even has a complication.
Probably my favorite app and complication now. Took me awhile to pull the trigger for $9.99 but I love Drafts 4. You touch the complication and you can start speaking to record a note or to do or anything you want to remember and it stores on the watch if the phone isn't around. Once the phone is around, it will add to the phone but the notes are available on the watch.

I can then load the app on my phone to create projects from the notes or lists or to dos that can be moved or exported. Whatever I want really. No need to translate the notes as it converts everything to text.

Closing thing to a killer app for me.

Does it allow you to compose from your desktop and then sync to the phone and watch?

At the present time, there is no Mac version of Drafts (although it may be in the works, IDK). However, as BlueMoon alluded to, you can create an action that can move the Drafts note to another application that DOES sync with the Mac. For example (and I just did this), you can dictate a text note in Drafts using your watch, and it will automagically create a new note that will sync with Drafts on your iPhone. From there, you can then use Drafts on your phone to act on the new note and share it with the Notes app. The Notes app syncs with the Mac, so that new note will then be on your Mac. True, this is several steps, but its the only way I know of getting those bits of text onto the Mac from the watch.

I just found out that you can also ask Siri to create a new note from the watch. But, you have to finish it on the phone. The watch needs Notes syncability, that would be killer!

That is a good little trick. Yea, I was wrong on the Mac app and came here to fix and you already beat me to it. It was a picture of the iPad they showed. Bummer.

I've used Siri on the watch to create notes using the reminder app on the phone. I first created categories in the reminder app on the phone for groceries and to do and notes and then use Siri on the watch to add to each. I now use drafts for any lengthy notes and reminders and to do's.

For example.

I've already used Siri for groceries

Hey Siri add apples to my grocery list

That will add apples to the grocery list under reminders. Do the same for any category you create under reminders.
