I would really love to search my Apple Notes in the way I can search in finder. As in, I select a folder and then I can type a word or phrase in the search box and finder searches that folder.

When I do that in the Apple Notes app it seems to search ALL of my iCloud notes. which is 2000+ notes. Anyone have any suggestions on how I can get Notes to search the way I described or if apple plans to release a feature like this?

Shortcuts can get you in that direction. Find Notes action.

Oh wow. I will be honest I am just getting into shortcuts and it's a little beyond my scope of understanding. Would you be able to share that shortcut link with me so I can add it to my macbook pro and iphone and try it out?

You need to install the Shortcuts app first, then you will be shown the option to install the Shortcut.

You don't use the search box with the Shortcut.

On a Mac, open the Shortcut, go to the upper-right, click on the three slider bars icon. Toggle on "Quick Action" and "Services Menu" under that. Now, from most programs, can go to <program name" > Services > Search Note Folder. And can also toggle on "Pin in Menu Bar", so it will always be in the menu bar.

On iOS: open Shortcut, three slider bars. Can add an icon for it on your home screen via the "Add to Home Screen" option. Or can use the Shortcut Widget to put it on the screen via a Shortcut Widget. So in the case of iOS, you will need to run the Shortcut from the Shortcut app, or tap on the home screen icon, or tap on the Shortcut in the Widget object.

Thanks, I did that. but then I just get this...

Working as designed. It's a simple Shortcut to search based on folder.

If you want it to do more, you will need to add the extra code for whatever functionality you want.
