I've always wanted the 12.9 Pro, but there are NO keyboard cases compatible for the 2017 model. I don't know why manufacturers aren't updating them, but it makes me want to "downgrade" to the 10.5 for sheer option choices alone.

Minus the Brydge and similar Brydge products, are there any other good keyboard cases for the 2017 12.9?

Well, the Apple Smart Keyboard is great. I have one and while it’s not as good as the keyboard on my MBP, it’s pretty good. Maybe I missed something in your post; surely you knew about the ASK.

I'm sorry. I don't think I finished my thought process in the post.

The Zagg one is for the 2015 model and they haven't updated for the 2017. I mentioned the Brydge as one option choice, but that doesn't cover up the iPad in anyway, like the ASK. Personally, the ASK has so few features for that price point and doesn't do well on the lap.

Logitech has terrible quality issues of either scratching the screen (Create) or playing iTunes while closed (Slim Combo).

It just doesn't seem that there are any good choices for the 2017 model. Go on Amazon and they're all for the 2015 model, sans the keyboards that are similar to Brydge.

Maybe the 2017 12.9 is just too new at this point? Or maybe it's best to go the keyboard route for the 10.5? I don't know...

Apparently the Logitech slim combo has a firmware update that fixes the "playing music" problem

I actually purchased the Logi Slim Combo so I'll put it through the paces. I'm still waiting for Zagg to release an updated Slim Book, and when they do, I think I'll be able to enjoy my Pro to the fullest.

ps - they did fix the music problem. Thanks!

How are you liking it. Also how heavy is it?

What's the difference between the 2015 and 2017 that would impact the case? Honest question, I own the 10.5 IPP so its not something that I really investigated.

Definitely lighter than the Zagg Slim Book but I still prefer a system like Zagg over it. The footing with the kick stand and keyboard requires a pretty substantial area to keep it steady. Yesterday, I noticed how much space you needed when you opened up and propped the entire keyboard.

The difference is the camera hole. The 2015 Zagg's camera cutout fits the 2105 Pro exactly. When I put my 2017 Pro into the Zagg, the camera didn't fit into the case's cut out hole. I was paranoid that it would damage the lens.

If Zagg upgrades the strength of the case, I'm returning the Logitech for the Zagg. It's a better system, although it is heavier.
