Nothing is in deep trouble

It is worth it at $800 yes. I feel like I stole it at base price I paid for it on preorder.

At that raise in price, it is still below a Pixel and iPhone of similar storage. But some (not me) can't stand the lack of inductive charging, something I never use.

Against my iPhone 17 Pro, I don't feel wanting on performance, despite the snap proccessor in the Nothing being far below it in benchmarks. It even does decent batch proccessing RAW photos from my camera in Lightroom. Yes it is slower, but not enough to make a huge impact.

There is the rub, I don’t believe most nothing customers are as elastic as you are, especially in emerging markets.

Emerging markets are important because they are nothings bread and butter, and nothing is aware of it.

As I mentioned above somebody at nothing leaked their plans to pull back and exit some markets which the cofounder never refuted.

Probably someone who was let go.

This leak is going to do more damage to the brand moving forward. Just like it did to one plus back in march.

I don't see what paying less than a flagship phone, getting 80 - 90% of the benefits, and enjoying it makes me unique. I know quite a few regular people who dislike the price of flagship phones, and opt for something less.

Choice with another brad being available is good, so long as Nothing pushes to market it, and get the phones in carrier stores and such.

Time will tell if these leaks are real plans, or, just something these people misunderstood.

That’s true, but if nothing increases prices due to higher cost of memory and storage components , that’s a different story entirely.

Most consumers in emerging markets would elect to pick up a 1-2 year old flagship instead.

Once price benefits erode, getting a midrange for the price of a year old flagship might not be worth it to consumers.

If the price is going up due to memory and storage, it is safe to say alternatives will do the same. Similarly, we are hearing rumblings that premium devices are going to see a price hike as well. If that happens, the price delta for midrange and flagship will remain the same as both would go up.

Some Android oems have already cancelled their ultra-premium flagships and are downgrading their premium smartphones simultaneously with an additional price hike.

Others are exiting the market entirely.

However analysts have noticed that in emerging markets consumers are opting to purchase a 1-2 year old iPhone or iphone pro series instead of purchasing a midrange or budget smartphone. Eg Chinese android oems have seen a double-digit decline in market share this year.

And if apple does not increase prices this year, then the price delta would not remain the same.

As budget and midrange prices would go up and iPhone prices would not.

We will know soon enough.
