When you say "verify my name and address", what do you mean by that?
They asked me to verify my name and address on my AT&T account information.

It's not a scam....phone arrived Friday and was locked to be activated on November 9th according to AT&T. They said that Apple had sent out locked units and AT&T was helping getting these phones activated, they helped in our case and everything was fine until the email arrived and it shut off the data portion to our phone. Again, had to call AT&T they gave us temp. Data (3gb) until they can fix the issue (want unlimited back). So long story short its an issue which started with Apple and is finishing with AT&T...by the way both of them had good customer service and helped us with the issue.
They asked me to verify my name and address on my AT&T account information.
Anybody else receive one of these? My phone is activated and working fine.

We apologize for any inconvenience.
Thank you for choosing Apple.

I received a similar email but my email from Apple said "Congratulations, your phone had now been activated. At the same time I received an email from AT&T saying that I had updated my email address which I had not.
Logged into my AT&T account to find out that my unlimited data had been switched out for a 300mb plan. Called AT&T and they said it was a system glitch and they'll have my unlimited data back on my account by the 2nd.
If you get those emails double check your account to make sure that all is right.
I think he meant, did they tell you the information and you verified it, or they asked you for the information and they "verified" it.
Scam don't do it. Call apple directly and ask them if that email is real.
Omg so stupid. It's called a phishing scam.
Really? You feel the need to call me stupid for double checking what others thought? OMG!
hyper sensitive aren't we? You wouldn't survive dealing with IT.
