Since I updated to Safari 16.0 the Notification Center no longer works. Alerts pop up but when I click on them the alert vanishes and Safari doesn't open the link. I see one other person having this same problem in the Support forums and they can't get it resolved either. I called Support spoke with them over an hour and they couldn't resolve it either.

It would be helpful to know all of the steps suggested by Support.
We see you're running into some issues using notifications with Safari on your Mac, and we'd like to provide a resource to double-check your settings as a start: Customize website notifications in Safari on Mac - Apple Support

"Change preferences for notifications

In the Safari app

on your Mac, do any of the following:

  • Stop receiving notifications from a website: Choose Safari > Preferences, click Websites, then click Notifications. Find the website in the list, then select Deny.
  • Change how website notifications appear: Choose Apple menu

    > System Preferences, click Notifications

, select Safari on the left, then change the Safari alert style and other settings on the right.
  • Stop seeing requests for permission to send you notifications in Safari: Choose Safari > Preferences, click Websites, then click Notifications. Deselect “Allow websites to ask for permission to send push notifications.”
  • From now on, when you visit a website that wants to send you notifications, you aren’t asked."

If you've already double-checked those settings and they appear to be in order, please use this link to reach us directly: Apple Support

Close Safari, turn off all of its notifications from System Preferences – Notifications, then turn them back on.

Same problem / Monterey 12.6 /Safari 16 .

I delete ~/Library/Safari/RemoteNotifications , also delete the UserNotificationPermissions.plist file.

Chrome , Edge works fine ...

The beta version of Safari 16.1 is available for Monterey
Code:
https://swcdn.apple.com/content/downloads/10/26/012-45864-A_UCQFKYWY9H/pmhvgrn81bdpcz117ixvly2kmeonycesf0/Safari16.1MontereyAutoSeed.pkg
I've downloaded beta 4 and it doesn't solve the issue for me.

Once again, Push Notifications isn't working ever since I installed Safari 16.2. Can someone provide a link to the latest Safari 16.3+ beta, provided it fixes the situation?

Thank you so much. It doesn't seem to fix it. At least, not yet. Are Macrumors Push Notifications working for you guys? They worked for me until I updated to Monterey 12.6.2. After that, no more.

Do you still have Safari in System Preferences – Notifications?
I don't have it in Monterey and Ventura, but it's still there in a not-up-to-date Big Sur VM.
