This might be a stupid question but I'll ask because I don't know of the answer....

Does anyone know will iPhone Widget functionality carry over to the mac; for example see my attached image

Philips HUE teased a widget to control about 4 or 5 lights, do we know if this will be carried over to OSX too, cause I'd LOVE to be able to do that from there, for that particular example I know there are third party apps that control the bridge but they don't work... :(

or will this be an OS X 10.11 update? >.<

Yes both iOS and Yosemite have support for notification center extensions. It will be up to the individual developers if they will deliver extensions for both platforms or not.

They don't have to rewrite their code to work on both just maybe have a different wrapper around the common code. Obviously if an extension uses an API that is only available on iOS the developer won't make the extension available to Yosemite.

Long story short its technically possible to support both iOS and Yosemite its just up to the developer.

I really hope that the developers keep that functionality in mind; it would be super awesome of them! lol... more testing but awesome functionality!
