I noticed that my new iPhone 8 plus has been intermittently muting my text message sounds and possibly other notifications. I posted a question about this last week with the only response being to take it in to the store. I did today and they ran a full hardware check which the phone passed.
I also just now discovered that notification sounds are being passed through bluetooth to my car and when listening to radio, I can't hear anything. If I'm streaming music or whatever over the car's system the notification plays. When away from my car and have a bluetooth headset connected the sounds come through the headset. Of course since they're not always in my ears I will miss the notifications.
Google turns up plenty of discussions about this annoying issue but most seem like iOS 8 and earlier. Is there a solution to this for iOS11 that I'm not seeing in the settings?
TLDR: I'm looking to have notification sounds pass through the iPhone 8 plus speaker when the phone is connected to bluetooth devices (car, earbuds, etc) because they're easily missed otherwise.
