Notification sounds skipping?

Running iOS 5.1.1 on the 4S and I have noticed that my text tones, app notifications all skip when the sound plays. It's very annoying. Almost like the sound take a double take the first few seconds, then plays.

Does anyone know what this could be?

Mine does this with custom sounds. Reboot your phone.

This happens with the stock tones. Just a plain old reboot

Same here close out open apps, then reboot the phone.
